Performance tuning

Hello, Can you please suggest what ESENT parameters can be tuned to achieve a maximum read/write performance? I would like to evaluate ESENT against current database engine and see what we can achieve on our data set. Currently I use lazy transactions everywhere and the following parameters: _instance.Parameters.CircularLog = true; _instance.Parameters.MaxVerPages = 4096; _instance.Parameters.LogFileSize = 16 * 1024; _instance.Parameters.LogBuffers = 16 * 1024; Thank you, Andrei

Those parameters are a good start. If you are doing performance testing a good thing to do is to set the database cache size by setting SystemParameters.CacheSizeMin to a large value (remember that this parameter is in database pages, not bytes). This means that you will get better performance at the start of the test, when the cache size would normally be growing.

Great, modifying of CacheSizeMin significantly improve queries performance. Thank you.
