Going backwards

The devs here currently run on fairly old Windows XP machines (don't get me started...), but the servers are all Win2k3. Taking a database from a production or QA server and trying to debug on my local machine results in ESENT log version errors. I have found that I can grab the esent.dll from Win2k3, drop it into my project output directory, and everything appears to be ok. Is this an acceptable solution or is there some reason this is a bad idea?

That will work, but isn't officially supported.
